Writing about anything for some extra cash sounded a good idea and the task seemed easy to fulfill. So I've created an account and submitted my first article which I am very proud of. Today I have got the page view estimated report: 2 views per day! How come? This is the article if you are curious about it College Life: How to Handle Nasty Roommates - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com
How about you? What do you think about Ac? Is it a waste of time or I have no talent at all?
You might read/post on eHow's message board/forum for honest talk about how much money can be made on these types of websites. Generally, they are not huge money makers.
I know a bit about online publishing and I would recommend you start your own blog and put ads up on there. It is really quite easy and you eliminate a middleman (Associated Content). Although it is certainly no easy task to make a living doing this.

Congratulations on having your article published: wow!!!
May I ask, what kind of account did you open & what kind of compensation is involved?
You won't make a living writing for AC. I occasionally write for them and in five years, I've made about $2500 or $500 or so a year. I do very little for them these days but I do get about $35 a month "royalties" from the articles that are still up.
Unfortunately, you probably will not making a living writing for any of the content sites online.

It's interesting that this topic came up. A few weeks back someone in this forum mentioned Text Broker. It looked interesting so I filled out the obligatory paperwork, wrote 300 words and submitted it. They rated me at level 3 which pays one cent per word. What the hay? It will give me an opportunity to sharpen my writing and editing skills while I educate my brain and earn a little blow money.
I think of the money as if its in a savings account. I wrote articles on the 11th and 12th. Both were accepted by clients without revisions. I almost fainted. The Sunday night before I wrote a letter to the Editor and he's going to publish it. Three in one week?? My articles were about renovating on a dime and sink faucets. The one thing thing I know now is it is a lot easier to turn on a facet than it is to write about the nuts and bolts of construction. I will be happy if I never see the word zinc again.
What I've come to learn about writing is this. if an author loves words, and understands how to frame words to shape a sentence to hold the readers attention, it is easier to write on a deadline.
Very doubtful that you could make a living with AC. Try Demand Studios, though, if you're interested in a higher upfront payment (no residual payments). I've also had a few articles at Ehow.com earn quite a bit, but that, like Associated Content, can be hit or miss. Good luck!

Maybe that's not great money, but it's not too shabby either if you work other writing gigs in tandem with AC. $500-2500 and royalties is nothing to sneeze at! I've sold exactly one article and I received no royalties from it.
