I have a problem with a current use of the word Institute vs Institution.

Diane Rhem just drives me nuts when I hear her introduce someone as being from the So-and-So Institution aka as a think tank.

It bring forth thoughts of a particularly used building vs a policy institute, or of a different tense.

What say you?
