My husband and I are looking for a place to retire. Grasslands are nice, but I really like some trees, but not much snow. Is there anyplace like that in Wyoming?

Default trees, not much snow

I'm not sure what you mean by extreme cold. I'm from north central Montana so I don't think it gets extremely cold here. At least compared to what I'm used to. It is windy in most parts of WY though - same as at home.

You should check out the Star Valley area. (Lincoln County) We lived in Alpine and then Cody (Park County). Altitude was too high however so we are now in a motorhome full time. I retired in 98 from SOCA and we had a great home in Alpine but the beauty overrode the snow. We had all the wild animals which was fantastic. We gave up mail delivery, local TV & radio, shopping and great places to eat for the scenic views. It is where people vacation to. Cody was nice but windy. It has all the modern conviences, close to Yellowstone and major shopping in Billings but Alpine is tough to beat except the housing prices are going nutts.
WY has no income tax!
HTH,
John

Wyoming is a desert. Live on the plains you have to wind to deal with. While we haven’t got much snow you have the wind to deal with and not much for natural trees around. Want trees you have to go to the mountains to where you will have to deal with the snow but the wind will give you a break if you can find a nice little valley.
