I moved to Laramie in 74' to get a grad degree from Vermont. Laramie is very windy, especially in the winter. It always seemed to start about noon. Because of the wind when it snows they don't waste their time plowing the snow they just close the gates and wait till it stops.

It's so windy that Pacific Power and Gas tried to build 2 huge wind turbines in the area your talking about. They had lots of trouble with the construction due to the wind, finally got one built but was blown down by the wind so they eventually just gave up. My first summer in Laramie it snowed 8" on July 4th.

No one can predict the weather, especially these days so it's silly to try to surmise how many times I80 is closed.
