Sounds pretty simple, he's going to work for Schlumberger and they are sending him to training in Rock Springs. Wants to know how much of the training is held, outside.

This post was posted in a thread that was 4 years old. I moved it to a new thread as the people in the original thread are no longer on City-Data. Does it make sense now? haha Sorry, I had the advantage of reading the rest of the thread.

Usually they have classroom training for new hires, to get certified in different things. I would call them and ask.

I considered that that scenario, but it didn't make any sense as to why an employee would ask about job training requirements on an internet forum rather than ask the employer. Still doesn't.

Then I thought maybe he meant "outside" as opposed to "in-house", and maybe was offering to teach some sort of training class in Rock Springs and was considering soliciting Schlumberger as a client. But since he didn't describe the course subject, that didn't make sense either. So I gave up.

Happy New Year.

For new employees, the training will be about 98% indoors. Policy reivew, Slumber J safety standards review, proper lifting techniques, certifications. I guess what needs to be asked, are you coming in as a new employee?
