A "technicality" puts them back on the list.

I feel sorry for the ranchers. I guess that means more unmarked graves for the wolf who is killing cattle or sheep.

Once again, the people in charge of managing our wolves, have probably never been here, have never seen a Wyoming ranch, have never seen the destruction, and couldn't tell the difference between a wolf and a Pomeranian.

Not just the ranchers, but the people that process meat, the people that haul, the hunters that spend good money to find out there is less game to harvest, the tourists that want to see deer, elk and other game from the comfort of their car, motor home, or tour bus..., just to name a few.

we should stop moving game. In order for these activists to see game in the movies and the comfort of their cars, they shift/drive game so they are visible forth tourists. Want to bring in those almighty tourist bucks. Stop moving them or bringing them from other areas. Let the tourists seen what the hunters see, the scenery minus the abundance of wild game.

I agree!

But, that's also what drove the non-native wolf introduction. Eco-tourists had a difficult time finding wolves to gawk at for their own enjoyment. Pro-introduction folks merely saw a market and capitalized on it.

Those of us who live and work outside, away from paved roads, towns and all that, had no trouble.

I've often wondered why, if they were going to "reintroduce" the wolf to the area, they didn't first offer/give LGDs to all ranchers in the area. LGDs have been keeping herds/flocks safe from predators such as wolves and coyotes for centuries.

And I totally agree that way too many of those that move game around and interfere in general have no real, hands on experence or knowledge but are working based on theory fueled by emotion.

What are LGD's?

Wolves were not "re-inttroduced", but instead, introduced. The original Greg's that Wyoming had were much smaller Greg's, the males ranging 40-60 pounds and ranging an area up to 60 miles or so. The program went up to McKenzie Valley Canada and trapped wolves to be brought down here. The McKenzie males run 140-160 pounds and roam an area of 600+ miles.

The program was set up to reintroduce a few (limited number) of wolves into the park, and onlynthe park, and if wolves roamed out of the park, part of the program would allow ranchers to take care of it, or the program would.

Wolves were brought in, they bred, their numbers increases beyond the numbers agreed upon but before numbers could be managed the same people got wolves put on the endangered species list so numbers could not be managed.

Everybody went back to count and fought for a couple years. New (much larger) numbers were agreed upon and if those numbers were reached, a season would be set and numbers could be reduced in accordance with tags issued, ranchers didn't need tags, they could eliminate numbers due to livestock being endangered.

Wolves kept on breeding, as expected, numbers were reached so they set up a hunting season to reduce wolf numbers.

Now, before numbers could be reached, and before ranchers could remove the threats to their livestock, the same folks have got wolves put back on the endangered species list.
