From what I read of the story. Looks like other drivers driving the buffalo from the opposite direction ran the buffalo into the on-coming traffic, and into the SUV! Maybe Rush hour traffic!

The wife and I were running a 2 track up by Walker Prairie. There was suddenly a vehicle ahead of us that was stopped. There was a big ole bull moose standing on the trail. About the time I told the wife, "God I hope he doesn't hit his horn", he did. That moose totalel that Ford truck. I had to tow him off the mountain.

Carter says the bison’s angry outburst is likely attributed to the agitation of the cars as well as the mild winter the area of Wyoming in which Yosemite is located has received.

Yosemite?

Geographically challenged Animal psychiatrist ?

A slight 'bimp on the head' ?

Maybe the bison doesn't like Datsuns!. 40+ yrs ago I had the tame donkeys of Custer State Park rough up my Datsun station wagon. I will stick with USA made vehicles when tangling with USA native wildlife in National / State parks! Maybe they are 'true to their breed?'

I HOPE I live long enough to get a senior pass!

I hope, I hope... (counting down)

Daughter and her husband have one truck they take into their bison pasture for a reason. So did the last rancher she worked for. Just one vehicle designated for any work in with his bison.

Not because the trucks were tougher, just to keep the damage those critters can do restricted to only one.

Another similarity to New Hampshire. Around here cars stop when they see a Moose in the road and try to be as quiet as possible until the thing wanders away. If you irritate them they may, like that bison, attack your car. Sometimes lots of sheet metal gets damaged. If you hit them at speed they come right through the windshield and kill you. Drivers have to be really attentive around dawn and dusk in our North Country.
