I'll be heading through Cheyenne, Laramie, and Casper for vacation this month, but it's also scouting for a possible move to Wyoming in the future. I'm primarily looking for restaurant ideas and if I should know anything about my route (Cheyenne to Laramie via I-80, up to Casper via 487, then back down to Cheyenne via I-25).

all 3 locations could use another good restaurant

lots of rather desolate miles to rack up via 487 through the Shirley Basin area.

do anticipate the possibility of inclement weather and cold temps overnight at this time of the year.

Sheridan can always use another good restaurant too. And the wind will not blow you off your feet.

Indeed, but it would be somewhat inconvenient for those of us in SE Wyoming who can visit Sheridan only a few times per year.

In Laramie, if you like Thai, Anong is fantastic: anong'thai - Home

Front Street Tavern (213 S 1st St) has great cocktails and serves the full menu from Sweet Melissa's next door (haven't tried the food, but people rave about it).

I've always had a soft spot for Grand Avenue Pizza: Italian Restaurant, Pizza Delivery, Calzones, Stromboli: Rock River, Laramie, WY

Cavalryman for steak: Cavalryman Steakhouse Laramie Wyoming

And breakfast at Prairie Rose is always good: J's Prairie Rose

Enjoy your trip!!!

I'm pretty jazzed about the chance to try the new Arepa Barn here in Casper, which doesn't seem terribly well located. I can't wait to try it.

From my view, if you come to Casper, I'd prefer to see something downtown. The east and west sides seem to have plenty going on in terms of sprawl. I'd especially like to see something there open past 5 that draws more foot traffic there. Oops, sorry. Is my love for downtown Casper showing?

Western Sky's in Wheatland has very good breakfasts. The bacon in particular is amazing! For dinner, Big A's (also in Wheatland) has really good steak and chicken fried steak.
