Rest Area located on East Bound Highway 25, Glenrock Wyoming

I am a full-time Rv’er, who has traveled from city-to-city and state-to-state for the last year and a half without any problems until I stayed at the below rest area.

I had been driving for four days, when I decided to stop at a Rest Area located on East Bound Highway 25, Glenrock Wyoming on June 9th, Sunday evening due to problems with my Maps GPS and exhaustion. As a result, I prepared to stay the night which required me to perform my normal routine which involves a complete walk-around of my rv looking for damage(s), potential low tire pressure or other issues upon arriving or preparing to leave a location.

As a result, prior to leaving this area I performed a walk-around routine on June 10th, Monday morning and discovered a night-time coward had shattered my garage window at some point during the night or early morning. Because of problems with my cell phone I could not contact the police to make a report regarding this incident.

In conclusion: Based on my experience which resulting in me paying nearly $800.00 to order and replace an egress emergency exit window in my garage, I recommend travelers not spend the night at this rest area because it is an unsafe facility. Although I have a picture of damage to my window there seem to be no place to post/include it here.

One post wonder, here to complain about something (that could have happened Anywhere, I had my RV window shot out while sitting in my own driveway) and then vanish into the nothing again.

Do you think that there is someone permanently hanging out at that rest area vandalizing vehicles?

In all likelihood the perpetrator wasn't there any longer than you were, things like this happen everwhere on occasion.

I'm lost......there is no rest area on I-25 near Glenrock. There's a couple parking spots where trucks
pull over but no rest area with bathrooms, picnic, etc. Is this Orin Junction? There's no rest area
between Orin and Casper. I don't know anything about RV's but do they come with garages in them?

I think I know the place she is referring to, and I would not refer to it as a monitored 'facility'.

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate 'event'...but this IS Wyoming, and although there was a time where crime was'nt so wide-spread, times are changing, and this being the tourist-season, God only knows what kinds of people are passing-through, some 'doing well' for themselves (financially speaking) and some are not.

My best advice for what it's worth: use the rest-stops and camping-areas at your own risk, because law-enforcement CANNOT BE EVERYWHERE AT ONCE 24/7-365

Sorry to hear of this..... Not saying you did not have a 'perp' stop by, but on rare occasions, tempered glass will shatter on its own, due to built stresses that form in the cooling process and for other reasons. I first knew of this happening in my brother's 1973 Dodge Dart...... one side window just shattered going down a country road.

Did you lose anything? Or find other signs of a person being involved?
