An update, of sorts, on the Yellowstone foot:

Strangely, the NPS has declined to give additional details about the death on July 31 that they say the foot came from.
Oh, and a visiting family spotted and took pictures of another foot (or maybe the same one) before the Park employee found it....but the family never reported their "find" until after they got home and read about the Park employee finding the foot.
Sounds like one foot didn't know what the other was doing (sorry, couldn't resist).

From the article: "Yellowstone officials said in a press release that they did not suspect foul play, and that they believed the foot was tied to a one-person incident and death from the morning of July 31. Park officials have not answered questions about why they were able to tie the foot to a July 31 incident, why they’re able to rule out foul play, and whether they’d recovered any other remains from the abyss pool."
According to the article, some are speculating that it was suicide. If so, what a horrible way to go.
