Where did you get this windchill snapshot? I haven't found any other source yet that went that low. Government site with hourly windchill observations says Evanston never got to -30 windchill in last 24 hours, though observations are missing for certain hours and it can vary by exact spot. https://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KEVW.html

Cheyenne got to -51 windchill on Dec. 22, 2022. So it certainly does get that bad or worse in Wyoming, though rarely. I was just looking for further confirmation.

Re: the December 22 observation in Cheyenne:
"Roberts noted this was also only the fourth time the state has experienced -50 or colder."

Overnight low here was -35.5.

Not wind chill. Actual temperature.

We got down to -37 one day in December (actual temperature). Got down to -18 actual a few days ago with only a couple of inches of snow (18 inches closer to the East Gate of Yellowstone and plenty in the mountains). Fared a whole lot better in Cody than much of the rest of the state.
