I live in Star Valley as well and I have lived in Jackson. What is a short drive to you is not to people who live in Europe ( or even in other states). Add Teton pass and the winter roads to someone who is not a local and you have a whole new ballgame. Maybe this person lives in a city has never driven on mountain roads in the winter.

That this person found it hard to believe there was no Mac store in Jackson also shows that they have no idea what it is like in Wyoming.

There are 6 or 7 stores in Colorado including Denver and Boulder but they are quite a jump from Jackson.

There's no easy way to get to IF without having a vehicle. Depending on how long you're going to be in Jackson, maybe you could call the store and, like someone else suggested, have the item shipped to your hotel or condo? The phone # for Mac Advantage is 208-200-APPL (2775).

I just can't imagine purchasing a TV and trying to get it back on Public Transportation.

Or are you going to ship it from IF?

It's not a TV ElkHunter, it's a small device that streams video over the internet to a TV:

It's 8" x 8" x 1".

I agree with ordering it online and having it shipped to the hotel (I worked Hotels for a long time, never found one who wouldn't accept packages for guests). Or, if that's not good, there are a few UPS Stores/Mailboxes Etc/FedEx Office (which used to be Kinkos) who will all accept packages and hold them too.

The shuttle is great if you need to get to the airport and don't want to leave your car parked there; but, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is visiting the area and looking for convenient public transportation to do some shopping, etc.

Of course, you're right, Jody_Wy. But Mr. Burton is visiting from Holland, if I read his note correctly. The drive either over the pass or through the canyon can be a little unnerving in February to a visitor who hasn't been treated to it before! Mr. Burton, I think, depending on how long you're going to be in Jackson, you'd be best off to order the Apple TV and have it delivered to your hotel. I'm curious why you 'need' one on this trip or are you unable to get one in Holland? Like you said, Apple is something of a world company so that's why I'm confused as to why you're needing to get it during your Wyoming vacation? As for mass transit, you won't find the choices for it in WY as you might in your country.
