Hi All. My wife and I are looking for a home in Fort Mill. We've come across Walden Park by chance and noticed there are only a few lots left. We have 2 children 7yo girl and 2yo boy and really want to find a neighborhood with a lot of kids for them to befriend and play with. Does anyone live in Walden Park that can shed some light on the subject? Is there a "activities committee" or anything getting kids together to play? Any insight would be very helpful! Thanks!

I'm not really qualified to speak on Walden Park, but since no one else has responded, I felt compelled to. Because so many people move to Fort Mill for the schools, it seems like every neighborhood has plenty of children. I don't think your kids will have any trouble making friends. Good luck with your move wherever you decide to go!

Walden is really a great location. A few hundred yards away from Riverview Elm, and across the street from Harris Street Park. Brentwood homes started the development a few years ago, 2005 or 2006. Ryan is the builder currently and the homes are a little different in style. Brentwood used cement siding, I think, and Ryan uses vinyl, so the cohesiveness is a little different. Hope this helps, good luck on your search.

You could also try Massey. Little bit higher price point but great amenities and lots of families with young children.

This is a great neighborhood especially for the kids, the ages range from new born up to 17. there is an active HOA committee which just recently we as a neighborhood got our representation due to us being shy of the over half of the neighborhood being developed. we do have a summer gathering where the neighbors come together to meet and greet, cook out and such. last year ft mill fire dept came and brought one of their trucks for the kids to see and climb on, was pretty neat. overall, fantastic neighborhood to raise a family. good luck and all the best.

Ryan is currently building homes with vinyl although they have an option to use hardy plank (the material that Brentwood used) but from what im told Ryan is not trying to upsell the option, probably an ask only deal.
