Higher goals to blame for drop in scores? Please. Isn't that what we want? To ever be striving to IMPROVE upon prior performance?

I know that's what I'm told at my job. If I did a good job in 2012, they want me to be even better in 2013 by setting more goals for my performance.

This is our first "PASS Experience" since moving from GA. It's ridiculous that Fort Mill School District won't yet share the students' individual PASS scores. I'm told we won't see them until the kids start school, then they send the scores home. I really believe they could easily throw them up on Parent Portal.

The SC House of Reps passed a bill this year that would require third-graders to be held back if they couldn't read at grade level. State Education Superintendent Mick Zais wants to end social grade promotions. The SC Senate made some changes to the bill.

Every school district will have to base their literacy curriculum off of the plan. It calls for reading programs as early as kindergarten with the focus on finding struggling readers before entering third-grade.
