Hi all

Due to the drought, my builder did not install any landscaping at about 15 or so homes in my community. They had us sign paperwork stating that they would install all the landscaping (trees/sod/shrubs) once the drought was lifted, or the weather conditions were more favorable long term. Our landscaping will not be covered once installed..

My problem?? I found out the builder is gonna start to install all landscaping (by the way, we just closed a month ago...I have not seen any big weather/drought changes!) Which they have supposedly started to do... (not on my home though) Can they do this?? I thought that there were restrictions in some areas stating that landscaping was not allowed to be planted?? And if so, is Lancaster county one of them? Can I fight my builder on this??

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

It depends on a variety of factors, like if they are going to use irrigation instead of lake water.

They planned on hosing all down I suppose, lol...We have no wells...no irrigation system...Connected to county water/sewer.

I just got off the phone with lancaster sewer/water about 45 minutes ago. They stated that no new landscaping should be planted. And that they are fining builders/landscapers that they catch in the act. They said only hand held hose tree watering is allowed. And that absolutely no grass watering is allowed....not even by hose...if your caught, your fined..

I just sent my builder a letter asking them to honor their agreement, and not plant the landscaping till the drought restrictions are lifted. I told them that we would be crazy to sign off on any landscaping that would be planted in a stage 3 drought.

Will see what they say
