Hello, my family will be in the area soon house hunting, and fortunately we have found many houses we really like both in Fort Mill and Tega Cay. There have been a lot of threads here regarding specific subdivisions. Other than commute time, it seems like all of the subdivisions are great for families? We hear a lot about Baxter but we are looking at other areas. We have homes already picked out to look at with our realtor, all in different subdivisions. My husband will work from home 2-3 days per week, and will also be commuting to his office in South Charlotte the other days. I am a stay-at-home mom. Our main concerns are noise/traffic (particularly maybe from Carowinds?) and also just being aware of areas that are currently
Or likely to be developed. I know there is a huge new development project that is in the planning process now. Any other things we should be aware of when choosing a location? Thank you!!
Just be prepared for even more growth after you get here - which means the acreage of trees near your new subdivision may get torn down for a school, more homes, or some commercial stores. Anything could happen in FM/TC because the area is growing like a week as more people move here.
Yes, all subdivisions are family friendly.
You won't hear noise from Carowinds unless you live RIGHT NEXT to Carowinds. And even then I would think you wouldn't hear it much except for fireworks night.
Long ago I worked at Homelite that was next door to Carowinds and no noise that close. We rode over to Fort Mill last week to see the area where the FM City Council is considering approving the 2,900 homes/apartments on John Spratt's property.
If your trip is soon you will get a good dose of our heat & humidity.
