The Charlotte Observer said they bought 33 acres for 6.3 Million.

I for one think that a Wal-Mart in that area would be great! There is really nothing around there except Bloom and even into Pineville. The only thing in Pineville is that nasty Food Lion.

That's still a bit of a drive from Regent Park, especially with current gas prices. The one on S. Tryon is probably closer, but that one can be scary.

Okay...go ahead....call me crazy...but it is Only 5 miles to the recently opened WalMart in Tega Cay to the property that WalMart just purchased off of Flint Rd and 21 in the Fort Mill Township area.

Here is another thing to think about...I believe that area in question (where the new WalMart is be built - Flint/21)...is within Fort Mill Township (unincorporated portion of York County)...so what that means is...no telling what it will look like, or what hours it will be open, etc.

I've said it before..and I'll say it again...you folks need to be careful what you wish for.

Oh yes, Gosox5...move into the area...and as soon as you do...look down upon certain folks that more than likely have lived here before you. Now does that also mean that people that might live in a so-called better area...than say you do..should treat you differently?

I was thinking the same thing. But if you have been to most Walmarts, you will see they bring a lot more of what many people to refer to as "trailer trash" than just one trailer park. Some of them actually graduated elementary school too and know how to spell "trailer" properly.

Ohh you are all so funny. Those "people" who own a dumpy trailer on 30 acres of land that their forefathers harvested and farmed for years will soon be millionaires when they decide to sell their land. On the other hand, they are some of the most down-home, warm-hearted people around. Give me a choice between someone in a trailer and someone in a 600k home to be friends with, and it's a no brainer who I would choose.

Looks like you did the same thing, by stating that the Walmart on S. Tryon can be scary. I have been there and they seem normal to me. Seems a little hypacritical of you.

Have you been there at night? Also, when that place first opened, several people were attacked/robbed in the parking lot. I go there when I have no other choice, but once I had the absolute worst service I ever had in that store. I was using the self checkouts and as I approached one of the front kiosks, the girl working rudely TOLD me to go back to the end of the line. This was as the person at the kiosk was picking up their bags and leaving. She said it was so the aisle there didn't get all cluttered up. DUH. Hello, every other checkoout lane in the store is a mess. I called the manager and he was helpful after I waiting on hold for 10 minutes, then I emailed Bentonville and have never heard from them.

I went to the new Walmart in Tega Cay because I needed clear Gatorade and HT didn't have any. That was opening weekend and it was ok. I went a few nights ago to that one with my fiance and her family and there were maybe 10 customers in the entire store at 7pm. That's pretty unusual for an area that is usually packed for openings of new stores, so that Walmart will probably end up an empty box like many of their stores do.

What I find humorous is that when it rained, the brand-new WalMart at Tega Cay had buckets for the 5 leaks in the roof!!!
