I'm trying to figure out why OP felt the need to make this thread? Passive aggressive tendencies on display, for sure. One thing she fails to mention is that many people who live there are also northern transplants, just like herself. In my experience, those who complain about what others wear, drive or the whole "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality tend to be insanely jealous of those people.
Of course, there's some sarcasm here. I said that to make myself feel better.

I created the thread because from living in the south to being gone for a while and coming back, its not the South that I remember and Fort Mill is a funny little town that thinks so highly of itself but is light years behind. The slightly satire post is spot on depending on the neighborhood you live in. Especially if you are in Baxter, Springfield, or the other high end ones that are popping up on every open piece of land.
I am also not a northern transplant as I was raised in the South, moved away, and came back like I mention above. But I fully agree that the worst thing about living in the south isn't the fake over the top southern culture, its the influx of North Easterners.

I repped you; Ft Mill has gotten to be a bit too big for her britches. And as a former NY'er, I also agree with your sentiment about North Easterners - not all, but the majority.
