There was an article in the Ft Mill newspaper this week about a business on Hwy 160 buying old/broken jewlery. I've also sold gold on eBay as well. Either way your not going to get the spot price (middlemen), but if you don't have a reason to hang onto it lock in your profit! Craigslist comes with some risk, you show up and the buyer robs you.

Maybe the same place?...I saw a sign on Hwy 160 in front of the shopping center that has the 'Town Tavern' restaurant in it that said they buy gold.
.....now if you had some Copper jewely..looks easier to sell... ....seem's that is in the news lately with all the thieves
I think the place is located in the same area where Gilb sells his BBQ, might be wrong. By the way, calling gold old, well when I read that back I realized, it's gold and it's supposed to be old.
Allison Love's Jewelry on Cherry Road in Rock Hill advertises she buys jewelry. I have used her store for repairs, sizing rings and watch batteries. It may be worth your time to check her out. It's a friendly jewelry store with helpful employees. Also Perry's Jewelry in South Park buys jewelry. They have a huge business on eBay.
Wow....I've done a lot of transactions on Craigslist and have yet to be robbed!
For small items I prefer to meet the buyer in a public place instead of my home. As with all things involving strangers, you have to use common sense.
I believe SatTerra's remark was just a Jester of speech...Iv'e sold alot on Craiglist also and have encountered some 'strange' people that kinda scared me
I watch to many 48 Hour episodes. One of the more recent ones was about a young man, 21 I recall, who was responding to a truck for sale ad. Unfortunately it was a set up, and he was murdered during the robbery. I'm sure it's a small risk, but a risk just the same. The public meeting place seems a better approach.
