I live in the 29745 area, it takes 40 minutes to reach south charlotte or indian land. Are there any new bridge projects that can make commute less as travel into indian land or ballantyne will require to go all the way around the lake.

There have long been talks about a crossing to Ft Mill via a crossing/extension of Mt Gallant, and many talks have suggested a river crossing/extension of Dave Lyle to 521, but such developments, if they ever come to fruition, wouldn't take place for another 15 years.

I doubt that a bridge crossing the river at Mt Gallant going to Fort Mill will ever be approved or built. Fort Mill / Tega Cay has resisted that suggestion for 15+ years due to dumping all the traffic onto a 2-lane road and just moving the problem from Rock Hill's side of the river to Fort Mill's.

I just don't see them changing their positions on the issue any time soon.

Fort Mill rejected any bridge across the river connecting to Sutton

And extending Dave Lyle across the river will probably never happen because it will cost hundreds of millions of dollars
