hmmmmmm.......
My row of townhouses has 8 condos.
4 are 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom
4 are 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom
Now...these homes are all exactly the same floor plans. All have a fireplace,
all have 2 bedrooms, all have 1 1/2 bathroom, the floor plans are EXACTLY THE SAME period end of story.
So, can anyone tell me why...
One two bedroom is taxed at 108,000 Land 10,000 Home 98,000
One two bedroom is taxed at 103,000 Land 10,000 Home 93,000
One two bedroom is taxed at 104,000 Land 10,000 Home 94,000
One two bedroom is taxed at 102,000 Land 10,000 Home 92,000
I wrote to the assessor and asked for written explanation of this 6000.00 discrepancy. Just wondering if a high school diploma and an understanding of general math was a requirement to work in the assessment auditors office in York County.
That is a good question for the assessor! If any of the units were purchased after the point of sale assessment (taxes based on sell price) came into effect, that might be the difference. Otherwise an end unit might be assessed at a higher rate than an inside unit. The assessor should be able to provide you with the reasons for the difference.
