Car/Property taxes (Fort Mill: moving to, refund, money)

We are moving to Harrisburg from Fort Mill in May. Our car property taxes are due in April. Do we pay the full $200 even though we'll be here another month only? Anyone know how this works? TIA

Yes, you'll need to pay the taxes when due, even if you're leaving soon. As soon as you turn in your old tags, you'll get refunded for the portion of unused taxes.

the refund will be by check.
I turned in my father's tags and it was fairly late in the year as far as a refund. But even though we were in month 10 or 11, we did get a partial refund check in the mail for both vehicles. It took a couple weeks I think, pretty good service on giving money back to us. They take it fast and some times they give it back fast.
