Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Gas Station Wars In Lubbock? Stay Tuned

Posted 03-08-2022 at 09:12 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Once upon a not-so-long-ago, I noticed new signs around Lubbock after reading about this sort of thing on Lubbock In The Loop. Those signs told drivers about a new Circle K gas station and convenience store being built at such-and-such location in the Hub City.

In fact, your writer mentioned this on Case's Column a little while back.

Well, in recent times, Allsup's, already a West Texas fixture, announced that they are building at least one new location...

Intentional Incompetence: America's Decline By Design

Posted 03-08-2022 at 06:48 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Updated 03-13-2022 at 09:06 PM by case44

You basically are seeing it unfold before your very eyes. My America is being torn apart intentionally by a heinous, ruthless group of people who call themselves Democrats, and they are far worse than anything that that party had ever done for its existence. These people are in power and controlling us rather than serving us.

They sure didn't win an election some sixteen months ago.

Inflation is skyrocketing. Gas prices are skyrocketing. The pullout...

Chocolate Still Abounds In The Case Abode

Posted 03-04-2022 at 04:56 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

I try to keep it under reasonable control. Hey, you try to restrain yourself with two small bags on your dinner table which contain two kinds of Hershey's milk chocolate nuggets.

Just like Lay's potato chips used to be, no one can eat just one.

Forget that I'm not even hungry for dinner on this particular evening. One of the supervisors at work brought pizza for the crew today as a surprise. And that's on top of what lunch item I've already brought...

Recent Trip Went Well, But Not Without A Little Adventure

Posted 02-28-2022 at 06:36 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Not long ago, I touched on the fact that I had a little road trip taken last week. I've gone over some of the details (of the weather variety) in a previous post, so I'll get down to the other things.

I left Dallas (which looked like Scotland Yard with all that fog) Monday to head for Texarkana. Yep, the place on the state line. My hotel was on the Arkansas side, but then, Interstate 30 is loaded up with hotels. Nearly all of Texarkana's hotels happen to be located...

CPAC, By Far, Going Way Better Than Anything The Upcoming SOTU Will Offer

Posted 02-26-2022 at 06:38 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

This weekend's CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Orlando has been powerful, as it always is every year. Lots of great speakers, not the least of which is President Donald J. Trump, came out and spoke in rallying American patriots to help work together to take our great country back.

I'll tell you this: CPAC is way better than what will likely happen this coming Tuesday when faux president Joe Biden* will give a lame State of the Union address which no...
