Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

A Welcome, New Sight Awaits Tulsa Travelers

Posted 12-07-2021 at 08:30 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Renovations are going on at a number of our nation's airports. Both major airports in Oklahoma have undergone changes in recent years. Tulsa International Airport has seen some improvements in their main terminal with all the completions builders have made. Now, they've got to do one more thing.

A designer has stepped up and he's come to the forefront as TIA has made a bid to build a brand-new control tower just west of its current spike. The real treat here is that Tulsa...

A Quirk In The System: I'm Getting Other People's Packages

Posted 12-04-2021 at 07:26 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

For starters, I will just say, "No, I'm not getting everything else for Christmas". Let's say that a parcel delivery system for my apartment complex has a few flaws in it.

A few weeks ago, I got a shipment to my parcel box, e-mailed to me via one of the big courier companies, except that it was addressed on the package to another resident. So, then, I decided to take the errant package and put it at the step of a person in another building. ...

Taking A Few Steps To Bring Out The Tree

Posted 11-28-2021 at 09:53 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

You might think it's big, but it isn't. Ol' Case took time to get his Christmas tree out of the closet and into the living room.

Just a few steps to my bedroom closet, grab the tree (which is about twenty inches tall and very compact from side to side) and bring it in and plop it on the cassette/DVD cabinet. A month from now, it's a few steps to the living room, and a few more back to the closet. Okay, so it's not much, but I don't have that much space in...

East Arlington (Texas) Landscape Changes With New School Facilities

Posted 11-24-2021 at 08:34 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

A few months back, I wrote about a situation in Wichita Falls, Texas, where their school district is replacing aging facilities built last century with newer, more modern buildings.

Well, another Texas city is going through it, too. It's already happening in Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth and also a place where I once attended school. I got to drive there this past weekend. While there, I checked out two sites where an elementary school building spanning...

So You Want A Rock And A Hippopotamus For Christmas?

Posted 11-24-2021 at 08:10 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

As Thanksgiving for another year approaches, one couldn't help but count his or her blessings, if for no other reason than we're all glad just to still have a life. With each waking day, if we still see God's Earth and can take another breath and endure another heartbeat, then we've got much to be thankful for.

While a stupid puppet show keeps taking residence in a corrupt Washington, D.C., along with the most incompetent cast of characters more out of place today than...
