Letting go

Letting go is something I'm used too
Whether life or my choices, acceptance anew.
Letting go of love, or money, friends, or ego
The more one accepts life's terms, the easier to forego
There is one thing yet hard to let go
Honesty from loved ones, when they aren't so
When it's our children it breaks our heart
All we ask is be honest, forgiveness never apart
From friends and family a similar thing
Most can forgive those closest for anything
The spouse or sig other, that's another task
We tie the individual to a union, drop all masks
So when they deceive it's a crushing blow
Yet hold us back no, instead we must let go
