Living in Grovetown GA landlord charged double late fee

No by law he has accepted my rent in my state GA we have process I wasn't behind I paid September rent and by law he accepted my 400 I gave the 1 of august and then accepted the remaining balance plus September rent with I mailed August 31. The magistrate told me partly what to do to avoid eviction never have had an eviction. The money I paid was for the remaining of august and all of September plus late fee for august. If he wanted he could not have accepted the money and we would have went to court and I still would have the rights to pay or stay the first time if you go back again it's not that way. I have been renting for a long time not from him but in life never had problems like this
