SAN CLEMENTE HIGH SCHOOL CA

San Clemente High School is located in the Southern Orange County, in San Clemente, CA.

History

San Clemente High School was started in 1964, with the first class graduating in 1965. The first lot of graduates who attended the school for four years graduated in 1967. In the year 1996, San Clemente High School was listed among the remaining few “small town” high schools in Southern California. In the year 1999, the US Department of Education, nominated San Clemente high School as a National Blue Ribbon School. In 2007, Newsweek Magazine ranked the school as number 471 and in the year 2012, it was ranked as number 380.

Academic Rating

San Clemente High School approximate number of students per class stands at 35. The total population in the school is 3000 students. Its teachers sum up to about 108, and they all have their credentials at 100%. The graduation rate of the school as at the year 2012 stood at 98%. The school offers various academic and vocational training programs. These include Regional Occupation Program, Automotive Technology Academy, Early Childhood Education Academy, National Honor Society, National Merit Scholars, California Scholarship Federation, Model United Nations, Advanced Placement Program and International Baccalaureate Programs.

Sports

San Clemente High School has a variety of sports teams. These teams include; football, boys and girls tennis, Surf team who are the National Champions, swim teams, girls soccer (Nationally ranked), boys soccer (CIF Champions), Volley Ball team for both boys and girls. It also has lacrosse for both boys and girls, cross country for boys and girls, Basketball boys and girls, baseball for boys and girls, softball for girls, and wrestling(They are three times CIF champions)

In the year 2010-2011 school years, the San Clemente High School boys soccer team won the CIF Championship and went ahead to complete the States championship title. In the year 2006, San Clemente High School Varsity wrestling team won the Southern CIF Championship for a total of three. In a period of five years, they ended up as second runners-up twice. In the same year, San Clemente Varsity cheering squad won a national championship beating out 22 other teams.

In the year's 2005, 2007 and 2008, the San Clemente High School Wrestling team known as the Tritons brought home three cups. In 2003, it also won one CIF Wrestling Academic Championship. In the same year, it also won 15 Wrestling League Championships. Proudly, San Clemente High School is the only school in Orange County that has recorded more than one winner CIF winner since 1982.

In 2010, the San Clemente baseball team was ranked in the 23rd in the state and 121 nationwide. In the year 2011, San Clemente football team ranked 5th in the state and 19th nationwide, with a 12-2 record. They qualified for the final round of CIF but lost to Santa Margarita at 13-27.

San Clemente High School is an all-around great school in a beautiful surf town of South Orange County. If you are planning to relocate and have High School aged children San Clemente High School will offer a variety of activities to keep your Children Focused and on track to graduate and further their education.
