The Little School Girl

One day a little girl was sitting in the living room with her parents and she turned to them said the kids at school said I have black or African in me because I have curly hair, so her parents said no you do not, you were born that way and God made you special, so the little girl looked and thought for a moment and said but daddy has curly hair did God make him special, again the parents yes, he was made special, so the little girl thought and then she said mommy I have full lips like you, were you made special to, and the mom replied yes God made me special too. So the little girl got up and left the room, the parents just looked at each other and shrug their shoulders.
Yet a little while later the little girl returns to the room and with her hands on her hips she stood in front of her parents and stated: "look my black doll has curly hair and full lips and my white doll has straight hair and thin lips, did God make them special too." The parents were speechless. Children are smart and not dumb.
The point:
It is no problem in telling black children with combo hair that they nice hair, but yet white children born with curly are told they were born that way, and God made you special
without telling the truth, that you just might have some black/African DNA in you.
Black children, on the other hand, are told, yes there is white/native in the family that is why you have that combination hair, light brown eye, green eyes, light skin, dark skin and etc.
Children should be told the truth, because when they lie you are ready to discipline, at least those parents who do discipline. Yet we lie to children all the time by telling them Santa Clause is coming, when in fact that is a lie, the tooth fairy will leave the money tonight, when that is a lie, the easter bunny is leaving eggs, when that is a lie (rabbit lay eggs) think about the things we have said that were lies.
There is no such thing as a little white lie. A lie is a lie.
Then we teach them how to lie, like "tell them I'm not home, don't tell mommy or daddy what we did ok, I'll give you candy later (bribes) and etc.
But as soon as you catch them lying to you, all hell breaks loose and you're ready to discipline. Yet YOU taught him/her to lie from the very beginning at a young age.
Now, look at what you made special.:dubious:
