Corruption Endemic to State Governments
New York State has, with great fanfare, established anti-corruption commissions and special prosecutors; and abandoned them. In 1972, Maurice Nadjari was appointed as special prosecutor to investigate high-level corruption in New York, In 1975 Hugh Carey, then governor, abruptly dismissed him. Nadjari said, in response to the dismissal of questionable legality:
In July 2013 Governor Andrew Cuomo created the Moreland Commission, the Commission to Investigate Public Corruption. In April 2014 he abruptly closed it. Preet Bharara, U.S. Attorney stated at the time:
Politicians are great at announcing initiatives against corruption. They get cold feet when it is exposed. And living in a high-tax state I resent the squandering of my money.

The closer I get to those remaining-the hard core and .I tell you that I am close, closer than' I've ever been before. the ' greater the abuse to which I am subjected.
