Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

It's Time For America To Get Back To Work

Like I've previously pointed out in a previous blog chickenscratch, I believe that America will rise again. Yes, definitely from this pandemic called coronavirus that has gripped the world.

But America will be back. It'll be back sooner than anyone could imagine.

Victor Davis Hanson, our modern-day historian and big thinker, believes the same. We've got great leadership going on in the United States in battling said pandemic. President Donald Trump and the private sector have joined forces, along with the American people, in slowing the spread of the virus while seeking to balance the health of our country and getting our economy to return to past greatness. And Trump is poised to become another Winston Churchill, as alluded to by Hanson. Wall Street will rally back. The states with the least amount of problems with the pandemic will be most likely to be the first to get back to work.

And, really, it's time.

We're going to pull through and defeat this crisis. And we'll all eventually return to the great eateries of our neighborhoods. We will eventually shake hands and hug again; there'll just have to be a little more caution. There will be sports returning, some with no fans, but others with crowds. There will be a Masters in Augusta. Watch for it. Churches will roar back with worshipers filling the pews. We'll eventually have crowds gathering for work celebrations, weddings, big job meetings, airplane trips, and, yes, even President Trump's rallies. That's not to mention the two major political parties with their conventions scheduled this summer. Yes, life as we know it is going to return at some point. Might not be completely the same, as some suddenly-struggling businesses will take some time to bounce back. Nations around the world, take note: You don't mess with America.

Six months from now, I want Corona to be nothing but just a beer, not a virus.

Yes, President Trump is as great as Winston Churchill.

Right now, it's better to have a businessman helping things in D.C. instead of "just another politician". Trump has been outstanding during this challenging time in American history. He's the president for the common person, and he sees things from a business perspective. Americans have benefited greatly from it.

While the Democrat Party continues to play games with the American people (and that's all they do, really), Republicans are working hard to help provide relief for small businesses who have faced challenges.

San Antonio badly needs new officials. Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff (also San Antonio's mayor, and why is the Missions' ballpark named for him?? I'll never know....) are condemning Americans who are standing up for re-opening our country. No surprise here, coming from Democrat officials. Nirenberg insists that SA's COVID-19 numbers still haven't peaked yet.

Huh??!! They haven't had that many deaths, and half of the ones that happened were in one single nursing home.

Why does Hawaii really need to extend their lockdown until May 31? It's not like they've had an overwhelming number of cases compared to other states, and they haven't had that many deaths. They could easily reopen the state in phases.

I know why this foolishness is continuing. Democrat governor. Democrat policies. Need any more be said?

Think about this: That swine flu situation from eleven years back? You'd think if Obama had any sensitivity that he would have shut down the country, right? Well, we should all be glad that he did not shut down America during the Swine Flu outbreak. Why? Because he would never have reopened the country.

Great stuff from Gary Franchi with a special guest. I hope what's about to happen in Illinois will also occur in other blue states with stubborn, left-wing governors.

The following article confirms everything you need to know about liberals and how they really feel about economic recovery.

This was in Politico, and they admitted it!!!! Confirms everything I've said all along.
