Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

50,000 Forum Posts For Case, And It's A Long Time Coming
I'm not really supposed to make a big deal out of this, even if it is a slightly-sexy number. And it's been a long time since anyone on this forum would get excited about reputation stars (and, goodness, it's never talked about anymore). This, however, is about the number of posts made on our forum pages, and it's only taken Case44 a mere, oh, ...............thirteen years 
to get that number.
Look, I also have a life outside of City-Data, where it's still great to be alive. My life is, too, for that matter. But Case has gotten to 50,000 posts. And, at the same time, I'm almost at 40 million views from readers and skimmers all over our great Planet Earth. In addition, recently, I reached a reputation figure of 30,000. Let me extend a word of thanks to all out there who have allowed me to get to this point, and also to those who've helped me get there. You've allowed me to be real and engaging each time I'm out there, just seeing the world like it is. And thank you, music lovers, for allowing me to be, in some ways, your personal DJ in your lives. Sharing music with you has been a great passion of mine, and I plan to do more of it.
At the current pace, ladies and gentlemen, it may take thirteen more years to get to 100,000 posts, but let's face it, it's just a dadgummed number. I don't want to make that big a deal out of how many posts I make versus other people. It's not that important. Some folks spend every moment of their lives on C-D. This writer doesn't. He also has a life.
I'm just glad to still hang on for the ride.
