Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Scattershooting Again / An Election Like No Other, And Too Important

Posted 10-19-2020 at 01:04 PM by case44

Is it that time again?? Well, I'll be, I believe it is. Forget the Halloween candy shopping; it's time for more Scattershooting for all you readers out there. You can get the chocolate and caramel and, well, everything else a little later on. We're going to go a little here, and a little there. Also, a word of caution: Since we're in the season of a very important election involving the U.S. presidency, the Senate, and the House, much of what will be covered here will be about that. I'll try hard to interject a few other things to mix up the pot, but if you'll indulge me, we have some things on my mind and yours to get off our chests. Thanks for understanding, and if this goes a little longer than usual, then I know you'll forgive.

America, as you know, is at a crossroads. Yes, we said that four years ago, but now, we've reached a bigger one. Four years ago, a businessman named Donald J. Trump was elected President because Americans had grown tired of the Washington establishment. They were seeing that America was becoming unrecognizable, that it had starting to accept a period of decline because certain people in our government had decided that this country's best days were behind us. That America had become unfair and unjust. That a president by the name of Barack Hussein Obama had the gall to go and apologize to people in other countries because America was a successful nation, a superpower, an exceptional nation. And he was having none of that, folks. He wanted us to be more like those other countries who had oppressive governments and lesser living conditions, and that America did not deserve to be a superpower. Such was what he and other Democrats wanted for America to become. As much as Obama tried to hide it, he didn't, as one YouTube video proved after he'd won the election that he was going to "fundamentally transform" the United States.

Eight years later, after Obama somehow had gotten two terms, this country was worse off than when he took office. Hillary Clinton was running for President to extend Obama's decline of America. Well, Trump made his famous trip down the escalator in New York City to make that fateful announcement. Since then, it was Trump who won, and America's comeback would begin. The economy roared back, and more people would be working at one time, more so than at any other time in American history. Record stock market highs were achieved. Better trade deals were struck. The President moved the capital of Israel from Tel Aviv back to Jerusalem. Jobs that Obama took away from us have since come back to us. You've watched that happen, and while that was going on, you and I saw a bunch of Democrats throw hissy fits like none this writer had ever seen. They have acted like a bunch of first graders who asked mommy for candy and she repeatedly said, "No." That's basically what we've gotten. Here we are in 2020, and the best the Democrats can bring to counter President Trump and a resurgent Republican Party is a senile dementia patient who has clearly seen his better days.

And then you see our nation's news outlets (and many of them have morphed down into propaganda machines for the left) spewing out poll information. It is to laugh. Polls telling everybody that Trump is down and Joe Biden is up. The findings are outrageous. Biden up by 10. Trump down by 2. On and on, in one variation or the other. Biden up by X. Trump down by X. Polls are tied in some places. This poll and that poll. Trump down. Biden up.

Stop believing polls. They're pure BS. They just mean nothing. How you think does not revolve around polls. Events and situations dictate and influence your decision, not some stupid-arse poll. All the while, it has taken a businessman and not some other politician to actually get things done in the Washington swamp, to the delight of many Americans who can't trust ordinary politicians anymore. It has taken a civilian to clean up a huge mess.

Democrats are not even real Democrats anymore. Liberals do not live by the very definition of liberal. They're supposed to be open. This latest group of Dems do not live with an open mind. It's now being run by Communists and Marxists, and it's their way or the highway. No longer is it the party of Jack Kennedy or Dr Martin Luther King. Well, let me tell it like it is: Today's Democrats don't like you. They hate you. They don't want you to prosper. They don't want you to be free. Now, the reality of life is far away from the things that today's Marxist Dems are employing in their repertoires. People on the left like to think that they are entitled to all the good things, and that everyone else is left the spoils. No one is entitled. Democrats are not entitled to winning or anything else. There is no entitlement. That's not America.

The left deserves to lose. A group of so-called adults who act like six-year-olds are still butthurt over a damn election loss that all they want to do is undo those results of a duly-elected President Trump. Democrats embraced groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter, promoted as civil rights groups, but, in actuality, are Marxist terror cells. City cores were vandalized and burned in the name of social justice.

Americans have reached a boiling point. We see now the difference between Republicans and Democrats, and it is more stark than in 2016. The left is no longer hiding what's been revealed. It's about right versus wrong. It's about law and order versus lawlessness. It's about prosperity versus misery. It's about truth versus lies. It's about America versus some other country. Call it any of these, but whichever way you slice it, this is still a choice election. It's that important.

Get to your precincts and vote. Don't wait until Election Day to do it. If you've got early voting, then do it now!

The Los Angeles Dodgers just won the National League pennant. Congrats to them. And they now could have a real chance at a championship. What won't happen is a rematch between them and the Houston Astros. Instead, you'll have the Tampa Bay Rays. They may have been the American League's best team in two zero, two zero, but I still believe that the Dodgers were the overall best.

Look for the Dodgers to finally get that elusive title after falling short. Texas' own Clayton Kershaw is due, folks.

Some of our major cities are already in bad-enough shape, at least by those run by Democrats. Did you catch what the World Health Organization revealed to the masses recently?? They said that lockdowns are not even necessary in staving off COVID-19.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5boD7YjXOE

So, now, we have Chicago with a rise in COVID cases over the past week (Gee, do you think it's because groups of people are gathering and continuing to commit violent acts in their city?? I think so....) Mayor Lori Lightweight........, er, Lightfoot...., is now proposing a second shutdown for her city. You can't make this stuff up. How stupid are these mayors? Lightweight is one of the worst in the country.

Chicago sorely needs leadership. Pray for someone............anyone...............to rescue that city from mob-like mentality.

Early voting is seeing a rise in participation. While it's too early to tell who the majority of voters are actually voting for, don't you get the sense of the belief that independents and teetering Democrats are getting fed up with much of the Marxist, mainstream media and the Marxist Democrat Party and all of their shenanigans? Meanwhile, I believe that Amy Coney Barrett will be confirmed as Supreme Court Justice before Election Day, but even that hasn't prevented out-of-control left-wingers who still haven't learned lessons from the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.

And folks are tired of it, and I mean, really tired of the behavior and the nonsense. If people so much as wishing death upon our President can't convince you to vote red, then nothing will. Things are out of hand when America is only trying to make a comeback.

********

President Trump continues to have thousands of people in attendance at his rallies from one locale to another, all across the country. Enthusiasm is beyond a fever pitch, as Trump is spending time engaging with the American people, an important reminder that he is with us.

As for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, well, Mr Basement can't draw flies at any gathering he has dared cook up, and the latter has had to cancel events because a couple of people on her team had contracted COVID. Now, as for Ms. Harris, she has not had many folks attending her gatherings, either, as too many people just can't stand her. She's actually a good-looking woman that she could pose for Playboy. Seriously. It'd be the only intelligent thing she does, because her demeanor, otherwise, will not win points with even some of her own constituents.

Well, time to wrap this up. For the record, I voted in person this morning. Glad I did. I did my part. Please, folks, don't fall for that stupid mail-in vote thing. Wear your mask and go to your nearby precinct and vote in person. Even Joe "Plugs" Biden took time to get out of his basement and go in person to get the deed done. If he can do it, for crying out loud, then you can, too. Make your vote really count. America needs to get this right. If not, then we will lose this country. And forever. That's how important this is.

And there you are. God bless all of you.

How can any American vote for a dementia patient who stays in his basement and refuse to engage with the people out there to be President of these United States?? How?? Regardless of what we've heard in relation to Democrat motives, it wouldn't surprise me if they were just mailing it in and that President Trump will be re-elected.

We still have to go and vote.

    It's right vs. wrong.

It's America vs. the media (actually, most of it).

It's Back the Blue vs. Defund the Police.

It's Capitalism and prosperity vs. Socialism and misery.

    It's liberty vs. tyranny.

Folks, I could go on and on, but I can't make it any plainer.

Not only do some cities have stupid mayors, but some states have really stupid governors. Gavin Newsom believes that if you go out to eat, then you should keep your mask on.

    At the table.

    Between bites....

And don't forget that Newsom in Cali and Andrew Cuomo in New York are out to make people who move away from their states continue to pay yearly taxes even after they have left.

Totalitarianism is not a funny game. It's exercising too much power over people.

Politics, not people. That's what passes for the Democrat way today, folks. Many people are tired of it.

Don't believe the false advertising by the so-called Biden administration. He's not going to be president "for all Americans". If he wins, then it certainly won't happen.

Meanwhile, early voting across the country is through the stratosphere. Wanna bet much of that is conservatives and Trump voters? I think so.
