Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Basic Code Of The Kingdom

Posted 05-30-2021 at 09:51 PM by Albert Finch

The "key to the Kingdom" is Matthew 6:33-34:

"But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

The key to the Kingdom, or the key to building our lives on the Kingdom, is to make every major decision based first on Kingdom interests rather than personal interests. To do this is in our best interest, but this is often hard to see until after the decision. These decisions should include our education, professions, where we live, what we do with the gifts and resources we have been trusted with, our local church -- EVERYTHING.

BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

If we live our lives by this basic code of the Kingdom, we will not be anxious about the future. If we do not live our lives by this code of the Kingdom, we will be increasingly and perpetually anxious because everything we have built our lives on will be increasingly shaky.

The Lord does not say we should not plan for tomorrow, but to not be anxious for tomorrow or the future. Planning certainly has its place, but our primary motive in planning anything major should be to do the Lord's will and serve the interests of the Kingdom first.

If we have anxiety about the future, it should be a sign to us and a wake-up call that we have not built everything on the Kingdom. What are we anxious about? Examine the foundations of it to see if it was built on the Kingdom, seeking Kingdom interests first, as well as HEARING the words of the Lord and obeying them.

Faith is the bridge between the eternal (the unseen) and the temporal (the seen). By meditating and confessing the Word out loud (building the Word into our spirit) we can cross that bridge and see as God sees.

"In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation." - Psalm 5:3

Exhibiting expectation is the key to hearing from God and is the key to miraculous power. Our expectation puts a demand on His presence and pulls virtue out of Him. If we have no expectation, our faith has nothing to rest on, and God can do no more than we exhibit faith for.

RESOLVE TO REPENT AND REALIGN

If we are anxious, and we realize that there are things in our lives that were built on selfish interests more than Kingdom interests, or that we did not hear or obey the word of the Lord, then it can still be corrected. We must first repent of our sin.

To paraphrase C.S. Lewis, "In the Lord, the wrong road never becomes the right road." To get back on the right road, we need to go back to where we missed the turn, which is called "repentance."

Then we must resolve to no longer make major decisions based on anything but the purposes of the Kingdom first and foremost. Next, we must resolve to hear the word of the Lord and obey it. This is the time to get our lives aligned right with the Lord and His PURPOSE FOR OUR LIFE so that we will not be shaken along with the rest of the world.

Our goal is to get closer to the Lord, to abide in Him, and find THE DESTINY HE HAS PREPARED FOR US.

"From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which EVERY PART DOES ITS SHARE, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love." - Ephesians 4:16

For too long, Christians have been motivated by guilt, instead of responding to the unction of the Holy Spirit. As each of us yields to what God has called us to be, then God will bring each part to fulfillment

We can no longer delay whatever repenting and realigning we need to do, so that we stand firmly on His Kingdom--as citizens of that holy nation, preparing the way for the King to come.
