It's a no med's party!!

Posted 02-02-2014 at 10:01 PM by grumptacular

First of all, check out this cake my brother made!!! It took him seven hours to create. Never attempted anything like this before. I am impressed!!!

It was an early start for my son and I. We left about 6:30 this morning and arrived in Va at 10:45. We were going to my nephews 9th birthday party for an afternoon at the go cart track.

After about an hour of hanging out with my brother, my nephew's guests start coming in. The first 9 year old, being dropped off by his father, tells my brother, we forgot to give him his meds this morning. The second boy who turns 8 next week, is dropped off by his mom, who is new in the neighborhood. She thanks my brother a thousand times for inviting her son. Details her entire life history. Explains that when her son gets tired, sometimes he fights. He needs to be on meds but she hasn't gotten a new Dr down here. Poor woman was one tense mother!!! The next couple of boys were neighbors, I didn't ask if they took meds or not. The last of the eight kids showed up and met us in the driveway, and we waited for him to load up in the big limo van my brother rented. The father tells my brother, "We don't give {*} meds on weekends." That means that 50% of the eight boys, under the age of 12, in that big, long van, should be on meds for add/addhd, and are not today!!!!!! When we pulled out on to the road, those 8 little boys, started talking all at once. The immediate voice and energy level rose to a point that would have made Seattle's 12th man, weep!!! It was almost like getting in the car early in the morning, before coffee has kicked in, and you had left the radio to loud the night before!! It jars you!!

My younger brother and I were both in the military. We have a commanding nature. My brother, more so than I. He is a big boy!, very imposing with his voice and no bs attitude.

This is my brother and I in our "Brother Olympics."

When we got on the road, my brother clearly set the expectations of behavior for the entire event. Any inappropriate behavior, language, slapping or hitting, disrespect to any adult is a no go. The man just laid down the law!!! "Any time these rules are broken, there is a three minute penalty in time out, with nose in corner! The worst part, is all of your buddies will see you and laugh!" We did not have a lick of trouble from these kids! We even fed them sugar from the cake and soda!!!! Now I will say, we were on them though! We let them be a pack of boys, and they were wild! But they settled down when we told them first time, they walked in a straight line, they all responded back with a yes sir! It was interesting!! I'll just say that.

If my brother wasn't my brother, I don't think he and I would be friends. I would respect him! But he is a bully. He is competitive, arrogant, and not only a sore loser, HE IS A SORE WINNER!!!!

The boys all did 12 laps. After, we had pizza, cake, and my nephew opened his gifts. Then they went back out for another 12 laps. One of the kids who ate too fast, wasn't up for another round of laps, so my brother took his place. Based on the man I described above, what do you think is going to happen when he gets out on the track with a bunch of kids who aren't used to driving?? He had no qualms with putting a kid into the wall if they got in the way!! It was deplorable behavior!! He was so efficient in his driving ability, we actually completed 13 laps before the first car started made his 12th. After this guy beat everybody, we announced it to them, chastising them, three times over the next 45 minutes. If I was still my younger self, I would have punched him square in the mouth!! But I am used to him now. Over all, the boys had a blast, and I guess that is all that matters.
