Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

An Idea For Californians Tired Of The State Of Their State

Posted 10-23-2017 at 09:05 AM by case44
Updated 10-23-2017 at 10:43 AM by case44

We all know how bad things are in the state of California. Taxes are higher than you can imagine, illegal aliens have been allowed to run loose, and frivolous regulations are putting a damper on people's freedoms. All of this poses a problem. The people that put the citizenry in this mess belong to the Democrat Party.

Is there any wonder that more and more folks are leaving that state to go to other states? Businesses and corporations are leaving in droves for Republican-led states where they know they will thrive again. And while Texas is a frequently-mentioned state at receiving these Cali transplants, keep in mind that there are others, as well. I do feel bad for many Cali residents; I really do, though I don't always express that.

But here's an idea on a state that ought to consider getting these Californians, particularly frustrated conservatives sick and tired of the Jerry Brown regime (In case you don't know, that's the demented Cali Democrat governor who is bending that state out of shape). I've talked about how Wyoming needs more inhabitants, business, and tourism in their state just so it can still be sustainable in the future. How about Californians just move to Wyoming? Yeah. Why not? Casper and Cheyenne are the state's two largest cities. They could use a long-range growth plan. I've harped about how Casper, in particular, needs to become a major city to keep that state's future intact. You can help Wyomingites with a thoroughfare plan, commerce movement, and maybe even a new airport. Or, perhaps, some new suburbs nearby. I'm not suggesting turning Wyoming into a blue state; that's not what this needs to suggest, even though some of the transplants might be left-wingers. Hey, who sez people can't change, since liberals need to be changed and reformed? I'll get to that in another blog post later. Right now, people in California need to be rescued from bad policies.

And since Wyoming is in dire need of additional population, why not? There's no reason, with all that land mass, that Wyoming continue to be the smallest-populated state in the union for the amount of property it has. The space is there, the weather is cooler (if that's what you would desire), and the opportunity is golden. Cali, y'all ask yourselves, "Why not?" It's a change of pace that may be worth your while.

Think Wyoming has been struggling with the loss of coal jobs.

Probably another place that I’d like to see.
