Severe money anxiety

Posted 12-30-2021 at 10:37 PM by TNSLPPTSO13

I'm making more money than I've ever made in my life...Grossed over $96k in 2021....Nets out to appx $70K after taxes and health insurance...
I don't think i'll ever make that much again.
What's funny is that many times I feel that I'm overpaid...I'm the 4th highest paid employee in the company...there are 28 of us.Been there for 44 years.

Yet....I am dead broke....Still paying for mistakes made 15-20 years ago,,,,I pay more in interest every month than I pay in rent and can only afford the minimum payments.

It was the gambling ....OK is my God damned fault.

Is too late to save money(I just turned 65)..I've got -0- in any type of savings...I'm in debt $80K.
SS website says that if I work til age 70 making the same I am making now,I will get appx $3300
in SS a month;which will be all of my income after I no longer can work... That will not be enough
for a renter, with no family to be helped by,deeply in debt and with health issues to live in Miami.
57% of my take home pay goes to minimum debt payments....26% for rent...ridiculosly low by Miami standards, where is not uncommon to have 50-60% of take home pay going for housing...

Anxiety is getting worse.

I'm basically a shut-in....my 2020 leased car only has 4400 miles on it..

Been tracking my expenses since 2011...I can probably find what I spent on food for May 2011.

This blog is for personal venting purposes. I'm
an extremely introverted and borderline anti-social person...I can't just talk to anyone face to face about these issues(and many other issues in the reality of my miserable life).

This may very well be my first and last blog-entry.

    Venting is good.
