It is like, you read a post, it looks great, and you give that person some reps, just to find out in later posts that this same member is directly opposed to everything you believe and hold dear. It was just a one-time fluke... There's nothing we can do about that, is there Marka?

"Have you ever given reputation to someone and regretted later?" No, never... I do give reputation points. I make mistakes all the time... I have too many other things to do/not do/worry about/ or laugh about...

My opinion is ....all you are repping is the one post....so in THAT post you agreed with what they said or thought they expressed themselves quite well. Really doesn't make any difference if you disagree with every other opinion they may have.

Eh....reputation points are simply fun little things that can brighten one's day sometimes. Why not give them? That's why they're there! I need to remember to give them more often. It's not like you're giving away cash to terrorists or something...I do find that sometimes someone I disagree with on many things has a very good point on something. Isn't that kinda the point sometimes? Some of my dearest friends have far differing points of view than I do on things. Doesn't mean we can't be friends.

Go forth, rep and be joyful!

There are many posters on here that I disagree with a majority of times but when they post a well-thought out comment that resonates with me, I won't hesitate to rep that poster. I am an equal opportunity repper and will give credit when it's due even if I don't care for a particular poster.

Hmmmmmm... no! I give reps for a particular post that I like and I don't care that maybe later on I might disagree with someones point of view. And surely I would not want to take my reps back...

I basically do the same as you do, that is when I remember to rep others. Because I always seem to have a lot going on, I'm usually on and off the forum so quickly that I often forget to rep others, even for some excellent posts.

There have been several posters that I have disagreed with almost all the time, yet I find that I will rep them for good or thought-provoking posts even when I may not agree with their posted point of view. Usually when I do so it's because I feel they've made a compelling point about their perspective, that causes me to re-evaluate my thoughts on the subject.

I may not change my mind on the subject, but I do see things differently in such cases, which I feel is worthy of a boost to the poster's rep. I don't rep for posts in which the poster is insulting or condescending to those that disagree with them, whether I agree with them or not.
