accessing statistical database

Am I able to use the database for my own narrow searches? I want to compare data from various cities/towns based upon my own criteria using the raw data held within the city-data tables.

For instance I want to list all cities under 6000 population by crime rate, breaking it down further by specific crimes.

Is this possible?

OK, so how do I drill down into the raw data to find the info that I need?

You don't. You can only do it manually. That's why I said it's a lot of work.
