Some people feel unsafe giving out their real name.

Mark is my real name. The S is my last initial. The period is there for grammatic excellence.

I don't use my real name because I've learned from experience that anything I write under my real name makes me accessible on google searches. Once I discovered that under my real name my posting history on several sites, newspapers, websites, etc. was available to anyone doing a google search, I freaked out and went anonymous. I don't want someone who disagrees with me searching me for location and address through my real name, then paying me a visit. If even kids in Amish schools aren't safe, why would I expose myself to looners? That's why.
(make sure Markablue doesn't change your name to Pam Eatoninsky...! )

Mark S., My real name is Mark and the first initial of my last name is S too. That would be funny if we both had the same last name.!
