There are two forums I am aware of where there are consistent problems with skeptics who derail threads.
What they post is "off topic," (arguing against the actual forum intent, not responding to anything in the specific thread) yet when specific posts are reported as such, nothing is done.
The end result is that entire threads are derailed and the OP abandons them.
We appreciate posters using the report post function. Moderators are very busy in real life and on this forum. Many times what a poster feels is against the TOS the moderator does not find any evidence of any intentional disregard for the TOS.
As far as the OP goes, there is really no rule that he has to continue to post in any thread he starts, many times they ask a question and read a lot of the answers before posting again. And then there is life outside of CD that posters and moderators alike have certain obligations to that require their time

You seem to be basically saying it's not an issue - it's a "no win" answer - you can't argue with the fact that moderators are busy or if you report something to them as "off topic" and they disagree, nothing can be done.
I never imagined there was a "rule" that OP's had to participate in their threads, but when they start a thread on Subject A and Subject B is introduced and Subject A is ignored, they might just give up - that is what I was addressing.
Just to reiterate: The question was about forums where skeptics hijack threads and moderators don't do anything about blatantly off topic posts (not just random comments but where particular posters try to discredit the basic gist of the entire forum).
Yes, I did. And nothing was done. The threads were allowed to derail despite attempts to get the subject matter back on track for the sake of the OP (in one case it actually mattered and wasn't just a case of skeptics ruining a thread with no repercussions. The person could have been terribly hurt by the direction of the thread. I hope not, but we'll probably never know).
Why don't ya post links to the threads in question?
Because getting specific like that is not allowed in this forum. The "Complaints" sticky at the top of this forum says that specific issues are to be discussed with the assigned moderator. When there is no assigned moderator, a Senior Moderator would be the fallback.
