This sounds about right. Most people I speak to who want to leave SA normally talk about either Aus, Canada, London or the US. I think Aus/New Zealand are the most popular though because it's easier to get into and have a very similar climate
Well also Australia is much favoured by Zimbabweans as well due to the same reasons as South Africans. Australia is not that easy to move to. I have spoken to a few South Africans that have even wanted to immigrate to Australia but they can't due to their income, skills and level of education. Yet I can understand Australia would be a better destination than the UK due to climate.

Do tell. What are these differences that you have observed?
In New York City you will most likely meet a Nigerian or Ghanaian before anything.
But there is a west African diaspora as well.
Central Harlem and southwest Bronx are home to various west African immigrants mostly from Ghana and Nigeria but also from Mali, Togo, Liberia, Gabon, siere leone.
116th street in central Harlem is little Senegal and park hill in Staten Island is Little Liberia.
Aside from that you have a lot of Egyptians who mostly live in Arabic areas or white areas. Astoria, queens and bay ridge Brooklyn have a lot of Egyptians. Moroccans are pretty much scattered all over the city in a small number. My friend dates a Moroccan and he's Haitian.
P.s. I also forgot to add Cameroon but if you are west African the Bronx is where you will go lol.

met both of them and I could tell the difference in their behavior...I am an AA who has been around and lived with West
Africans, I was able to pick up a BIG difference in behavior..( body-language,accent,expressions,attitudes,aesthetics). ..
In short, the cousin was culturally American in the way he presented himself..

There are certainly differences between Black Americans and Black Africans, but those differences aren't always so cut and dry that one can distinguish them based on looks alone.

Otherwise yes I would say it's pretty easy to see the difference between them. You can even see the differences between the people in the different African countries AND you can see the differences between the different black people from their different tribes. The way they speak, handle themselves, dress etc are all very easy identifiers.
Making seeing the difference in Black Americans probably the easiest. That being they'll either look/behave very "westernised" or they'll have that "gangster" look. Basically they lack that "African" culture... Which is 1 reason I've never understood the term "African America"...They're about as "African" as I am "European" >.<

My grandmother is a 91 year old African American woman. There's nothing "gangster" about her. And just because you aren't knowledgeable enough to recognize the obvious African elements of Black American heritage and culture doesn't mean they aren't there. It's in our music, our speech, and most importantly the way we relate to each other.
But there's no point in debating anything with someone who would use ridiculous stereotypes to make a point.
