So, i'm currently in ohio and i'm contemplating on whether i should just do the academy at my school or just do the academy in houston, tx after i graduate. I don't really want to be in ohio after i'm done with school, but if i end up staying in ohio i thought about moving to akron.

It would depend on how you plan to use that degree, that covers a variety of occupations. For police I believe there has been some hiring since layoffs during the downturn.
