By law in VA, if a homeowner buys a home in VA in an HOA controlled subdivision under development, the developer/seller discloses the docs prior to sale. This gives the potential homebuyer a chance to say no to the sale.

What is the state law regarding this issue in Alabama?

There is currently no legislation to protect those purchasing in an HOA. However, the Alabama Concerned Homeowners Alliance is in the process of working with legislators to author legislation that will be presented in the January session. They are also working with the Real Estate Commission and the Board of REALTORS. Their website is www.alabamahoa.org .

Isn't this a bit of a school marm question - not enough going on in the HVille forum?

Default Just get over it!!!

Isn't it amazing how a few of the new antibuyer posters just signed on in the past week or so? very interesting. And their attitudes are ALL THE SAME? Gee, not the friendly southern attitude we like. Nope. These posters like Schru tend to say "BUYER GO HOME IF BUYER DON'T LIKE BUYER BEWARE."

Perhaps the reality of not selling is really hitting some of these more unscrupulous people at home--where it hurts--aka their wallets.
