Cullman's Oktoberfest!!
It's October, so it's time for Cullman's annual Oktoberfest, possibly the largest dry Oktoberfest in the world.
That's right, folks! No beer!

Octoberfest without beer is like a sunny day without the sun, can't be done!

I dunno. They're doing it.
Personally, I don't drink beer so any Octoberfest would be dry for me!
They do have an official drink: Oktoberzest, an apple pie-flavored sparkling cider. http://www.cullmanoktoberfest.com/oktoberzest.cfm

I refuse to attend a festival without libations. And I refuse to go to dinner out unless I can have a glass of wine. I'll do take out and carry it home first. What is so wrong with a glass (or two) of wine with a meal?

How can you have a German celebration with out beer?
Maybe a lot of " fake Germans" in Cullman also.
The rural county I live in ( Minnesota) is predominately German.
Many small towns ranging from 100-400 people.
Expect one church and 2 bars in every one of those towns.
I respect Alabama's laws, but calling it an Oktoberfest w/o beer is laughable to most Germans.
Sorry, apple cider is no replacement for beer at a real Oktoberfest.
