To the OP--1stimestar is right, it's like I said in my first post. Didn't want you to think that my reply was an attempt at comedy. Looking at a map of the area can be deceptive because Talkeetna and Trapper look so close together---and they are close together, about three miles, but they're separated by a pretty wide stretch of the Susistna River.

If you're thinking of it as a daily commute--it's doable; they keep the roads up pretty well in the winter. I think you're a teacher; maybe you're thinking of teaching in one town and living in the other? Honestly, it wouldn't be a daily commute that I'd want to do but some people do it.

And after freeze up, snow machining across is fairly easy.
