I'm planning a trip north...maybe as far as coldfoot in mid August. Delay the fireweed as much as possible please. I need all the color I can get. A co-worker told me they went to coldfoot a week ago and the fireweed was awesome pink amongst the burn areas. Dead pecker poles sticking up all black and grey...and pink fireweed as far as the eye could see. I'm hoping for that type of scenery.

Well i'm new to this forum and a while back there was a thread about how much stuff costs in Alaska that I found very helpful. People posted the cost of a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, a house, etc according to where they lived. That would be a good sticky for cost of living.

I'll be heading to the lake this Wednesday or Thursday and everyday after for a week at least. Need to drop some trees on the island for cabin space. I hear it's been raining. Could very well be some good pickin. You want some should I find some? I really have no use for them. Be more than happy to pick you a bunch. Trade you for a Marsh Creek hat or something.
