This is a project that could truly be the way to go for Alaska's energy future solving a major problem for many years to come. Some of the funding methods using a public/private scheme are doable and over the life of the project seem feasible.

There is some mention of moderate amounts of damage to the river as a Salmon stream but from what I've read it is a small percentage of the present stock. Any project of this size will have an impact but with proper restrictions put on development so there is little or no home construction along the site of the man made lake that could easily be moderated.

The benefit in electricity and water supply would insure the future of this part of Alaska. I haven't seen anything to date about any transportation use of the lake but that could be factored in if there is a desire to have it done in a competent manner.

Overall it appears to be something desirable and something that will benefit the State in many ways.
