...yeah, a note on the cold. -15 isn't "VERY cold." Even the coastal towns get that low, though they don't usually stay there very long. For the most part, it sounds like the OP would like interior towns such as those mentioned, but you've got to be alright with temperatures below -40, and maybe more significantly, with temps below zero for most of the winter.
