Can someone please give me some advice. I currently have a PreK-12 Physical Education Certification. I'm interested in starting my Masters (Elementary Education) online through either UAF, UAA, or UAS. We would move up there over the next few years but right now we need to pay off my school debt and sell our house (save money).

Not sure which school is best for this. I have been to Juneau and other areas in the southeast. I am from WI so I'm use to the cold but my husband said Fairbanks sounds to cold and he thinks Anchorage has to much crime (a coworker of his visited there and had nothing good to say about it). I had a friend who lived there and loved it. I do agree I don't know if my kids would like living in Fairbanks as we like snow and cold but not -40!!!

I'm guessing Anchorage is like Milwaukee, there are gangs, drugs, murders, you just learn which areas NOT TO GO TO and be smart about your choices. If you look like an easy target and go into an area that has drive by / rape issues you will probably get yourself into a bad situation. If you are smart you will probably not have any close calls with bad crime!!

My husband has lived in South Carolina and WI. He was in the Marines and use to be a mechanic for airplanes. He currently works at a Waste Management Company fixing the trucks and everything else that breaks down!!! I'm guessing he could find a job in any of those cities. Also does anyone know is Alaska open to hiring teachers with a Masters Degree or do they hire mostly teachers with Bachelors? I'm just saying this bc WI is all about cheap teachers in many districts and that is why I'm not doing this here bc I would never get a job!! Lots of teachers and no jobs in WI!! Enough of the questions from me, any advice would help so I don't end up farther in debt w/ no job!!
