My goodness! That's a lot of playing around to receive such a reputation. What the heck is going on? (just ignore the stupidly designed US map, since Alaska and Hawaii aren't in the US. Right?)

It also has the least educated populace in the country; pretty sure there's a correlation.

It's cold there. A lot of snuggling under the blankets to keep warm.

I think its an intellectually dishonest report, how about they cut out all the villages off the road system or dont have major ports or massive airports (so dutch harbor, nome, etc would count). IE Places where people are inbreeding.

Pretty sure Anchorage and the Kenai have some of the most educated work force /population in the nation. Unfortunatly when you include rural areas is drasticly skews the data.

And a high incidence of STDs. Where is this assumption that our numbers are skewed by village life coming from? Anchorage is up there in this category, from what I've heard. Probably SE too.

There may be educated people working in those parts of the state, but to count them among the most educated people in the country is a laugh.

Poor healthcare access among immigrants, some native populations, and some specific villages. Substance abuse and prostitution. High unemployment. These things all contribute and I’m just not surprised. Even back *mutter mutter* ago when I was going to college in southeast, there were outbreaks of crabs and chlamydia in the dorms. Lots of unprotected sex and bad behavior. Lots of things going along with that, like unplanned pregnancies, alcohol poisoning, academic probations, etc.

And that was way before this report. Things haven’t improved.
